As a music teacher, my responsibility is to provide your child with a comprehensive and personalised musical education. I will tailor all lessons to suit your child's goals and desires, as well as provide a holistic and well-rounded musical education that will suit their level and future aspirations. My aim is to create an enjoyable and engaging learning environment, encouraging students to progress, practice, and learn at their own pace.
Student/Parent Responsibility:
I expect my students to arrive on time with their books and instrument, having completed their practice for the week. Late arrivals will not be made up, as I have commitments already scheduled after your child's lesson is finished. I expect that no other music teacher shall be allowed to teach our students while they are enrolled with me. If your child has a school music teacher, they are only permitted to teach ensemble repertoire or completely separate repertoire. Any breach of this agreement will constitute a reason for immediate termination of lessons.
The studio is open throughout the year, except for December and January. Lessons over the holidays may be arranged by appointment only.
Term 1: 10 weeks
Term 2: 10 weeks
Term 3: 10 weeks
Term 4: 8 weeks
When signing up for lessons, all students commit to their reserved time slot on the schedule for the full term. Students are expected to attend their lessons, and no make-ups or refunds will be provided. If I am unwell, I will credit or reschedule your lesson to a later date. For clashes with a school concert or camp, the lesson will be rescheduled to a negotiated time, with only one reschedule permitted per term. Notice must be given at the start of the term to receive an alternative time slot. Any and all late or missed payments are subject to a $50 late fee. Tuition not only covers the time spent with the student at their music lesson but also covers the time spent preparing for their music lesson, and our business running costs, which involve:
• One student concert per semester
• Creating an individual plan for the student's course of study
• Searching for appropriate repertoire for the student's needs
• Our training and experience
• Attending professional developments and conferences
• Music lending library of resources
If tuition is cancelled prior to the end of the term, no refunds will be given for outstanding lessons.
I will host two concerts throughout the year, and I encourage all my students to perform, as it provides an opportunity to demonstrate what they have learned. These concerts allow students to have a goal and a purpose, and to work hard and perform their piece.
For any enquiries or concerns, please email me, and if you wish to talk to me, please let me know at the start of your child's lesson so that I can plan accordingly and avoid any interruptions.
